It was the last Friday of 2011 and we did nothing but eat and be bum for the whole day. \m/ I’m usually hyped up when it’s Friday because.. Well, it’s Friday. :)) My tita wanted to go out since it was also the last day of my cousin here in Manila for the Christmas vacation. Deep down, we, too, wanted to get out of the house. :)) We’ve been meaning to visit Mercato. Unfortunately, Mercato re-opens on January 13, 2012. Booo.. So we just went out for some tea hopping. Tea shops have emerged (out of no where) fast this year and teas became a trending drink as much as Starbucks did.
First stop, Raintree Teapresso Blends. Located along Katipunan Ave., Raintree opened last September 30, 2011 offering not only a rich variety of tea drinks but also pastries that looked really mouth-watering. :D I say looked because we only tried one but that one treat was really delicious. :-bd

I forgot what it was called but it tasted like Banana cake and the syrup on top seemed like chocolate or cinnamon. HAHAHAHA.. Epic fail mag food blog. x_x Anyway, my cousins ordered the Wintermelon and Belgian Chocolate Pearl Milk Teas. To rate the drinks from 1-5, 5 as the highest, I’d give it a 3. It tasted like the usual, just like any other tea shop. And the Belgian Chocolate was not particularly served cold. But in defense to them, I guess we just didn’t try their specialty. Hmmm.. Next time. :) But we really liked the place. It had good ambiance, good music, cool interior. It was a good place to chill. :D

Raintree check!
Next stop, Saints’ Alp. Saints’ Alp Teahouse is located at Katipunan Ave., 2nd floor of the Regis Center. This was the least tea house that we liked. Well first, prices were a bit high compared to other tea shops. Second, I can get a drink with as much flavor as they offered in a lower rate. hahahaha.. Third, it was a posh place. Eh, bawal mag-ingay. :)) But I liked the feel of the place. Cool music. :D

My tita ordered this toasted bread with peanut butter spread and wasabi-like-color spread and it was worth 75 pesos. JOSKO. :)))

Us trying to be Korean. ENGK. :))

Pano ngumiti ang conyo. :))) EPIC FAIL JIAN. Tssss.. =))

Pang-commercial pose. :))

The longer you stare, the more awkward/funny it gets. =))

Family picture. YAY! :D

Oh, by the way, we ordered the Oreo Milk Tea. First reaction, ang laki ng baso! Hahahaha.. I think it was good for three people. :-O I’ll give the drink a rate of 4. :D My tita also ordered this green tea drink and it tasted like, well, tea. :|

After Saints’ Alp, we headed to Tealogy and this was this one tea shop I was waiting for. :D But before that, we stopped by Fully Booked to get something my tita bought. So this picture is pretty epic for three reasons. First, they were all looking at me partly because of the camera and partly because someone’s about to park his car at my spot. Second, kuya manong guard is in the picture not because we invited him to pose but because he scolded us since taking pictures was prohibited. :( Third, I like this picture. :))
So off we went to tealogy, and for the second attempt this vacation, it was closed. :(( WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME? Anyway, so we drove along Katipunan and tried Serenitea, but sadly, it was closed too. We even argued because there were people inside but the sign said “closed”. :))
So off we continued our search for the next tea shop. We took a right turn before Mcdo just to check if Cha Dao was open and tadaaaaa.. It was! More than that, we checked Moonleaf, and it too was open! :))) Ok. Simple joys.

My cousins ordered Assam and Cha Yen. 5 for the drinks! YAY! Too bad Cha Dao and Moonleaf had small spaces so it wasn’t really convenient for long talks. However, they offer one of the great tasting and affordable drinks. :)

I ordered Honey Milk Tea at Moonleaf. :) My first and only drink and I was already bloated by the last sip. :|
We still didn’t want to go home but we surely were fed up with tea so we decided to grab a bite at Army Navy (or some other burger/burrito/Mexican food shop. We were still deciding.) But then again, most of the shops were closed. :( It was 11pm. Why so early Manila? And it was a Friday. :)))) :(((
Moving on, went to Libis to check Bon Chon but it was closed too. Hohohohoho.. Decided to have Shakey’s instead but we tried out the branch along Marcos Highway since it was nearer to our place.

Once again my friends, it was closed. :))) Haaaay.. Sign ng umuwi. We just had a drive-through at Mcdo and then we were back home by 12am. What a night. :)
I really got bloated that night I can even skip 2 whole meals. LOLJK. :P
So how was your last Friday night for 2011? Happy New Year everyone! :D

Balik na naman sa student mode. Haaaay.. :| :D :-S :)
